Sami Salo returning to the ice tonight as the Canucks take on the Flames gives me some relief. Vancouver’s blue line is hurting right now and Vancouver’s success this year is driven from the blue line. It will take Salo a few games to be back on track again but, if he can remain uninjured for the rest of the season and playoffs, Vancouver’s chances of a Stanley Cup this year becomes greater. Tonight is an important game which will test the Canuck’s depth and strength as a team. I say 3 – 2 for the Canuck’s tonight.

The Vancouver Canucks (35-11-9) are looking to bounce back after Wednesday’s loss when they play host to the Calgary Flames (28-21-8), who are playing the second of back-to-back games tonight. This will be the fourth of six meetings between these Northwest Division rivals, where the Canucks have asserted themselves over the first two games and the Flames responded with a victory in their most recent matchup. For the first time this season, the Canucks will see Sami Salo return to the lineup, which will be a key addition for the injury-riddled Canucks.
