I predict the Vancouver Canucks will take the series in 6 game. Once the entire team starts firing it’s going to be hard to stop the..

Just two nights after a season-saving overtime win in Game Seven against the Blackhawks, the Vancouver Canucks (series tied 0-0) get right back to work tonight when they open their Western Conference Semifinal series against the Nashville Predators at Rogers Arena. Vancouver will try and manufacture the same level of intensity they displayed in the recent Game Seven, and the Preds might be able to help the Canucks in that area as the Preds have been known to play a physical brand of hockey which could spark the Canucks to respond in kind. Roberto Luongo, coming off possibly his best game of the season, will start between the pipes.

Vancouver should have won the 6th game but some things did not go in their way. Cori let in two bad goals and the refs sucked. However, I believe they as a team will overcome those obstacles and win the series tonight.

The Vancouver Canucks (series tied 3-3) have one last chance tonight to avoid becoming just the fourth team in NHL history to blow a 3-0 series lead when they host Game Seven of this Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the Chicago Blackhawks at Rogers Arena. After getting no pushback from their opponents at all in Games Four and Five, the Blackhawks ran into a different Canucks team in Game Six – one that came out with a bit more drive and determination. One lineup change the Canucks may have to make out of necessity is to replace Sami Salo’s spot after the rearguard left Sunday’s contest in the first period with an undisclosed injury. Keith Ballard will be the likeliest replacement.

Te Canucks must play as they are capable of doing tonight. I understand the momentum has shifted and that is sometimes hard to change, but they must. If they do not win today, Chicago has a good chance to win 4 straight against the Canucks and end their season.

The Vancouver Canucks (lead series 3-2) will try to avoid a third consecutive beat down at the hands of the Chicago Blackhawks tonight when they return to the Madhouse on Madison for Game Six of this Western Conference Quarterfinal series. It was exactly one week ago today that the Canucks took a commanding 3-0 series lead with a 3-2 victory at the United Center and it appeared the Blackhawks were just about to draw their last breath of these playoffs. The Canucks may still have the series lead but the Blackhawks had total domination of Vancouver in Games Four and Five. Despite how quickly things can change in seven days, a drastic change between the pipes won’t be happening for the Canucks, as Luongo will start tonight in Chicago.

As much as I would like to see the Canucks finish off the Hawks on home ice, I feel they will end the series tonight.

Two years of accumulated playoff demons can be exorcised tonight by the Vancouver Canucks (lead series 3-0) as they have a chance to book their ticket to the second round and eliminate the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks with a win in Game Four at the United Center. The Canucks won’t want to give the Blackhawks any reason for hope so expect them to come out ready to close out the series once-and-for-all tonight. Dave Bolland and Bryan Bickell are expected to return to the Blackhawks lineup tonight, while Vancouver will likely ice the exact same lineup as they had in Game Three.

The Canucks as a team, with Luongo as the final defence man were just way too good for the current Stanley Cup holders. I feel the officiating sucked and the Torres aggressive hits were placed in a dimension which does not exist on the ice, at least not in Canada. I feel the Hawks will somehow win game 4 and the Canucks will bring home the birds for a healthy team feeding get together.

The Canucks play spoiler for the Blackhawks’ return home as they steal the first game in Chicago and go up 3-0 in the series. Mikael Samuelsson score the winner in the third, while Henrik and Daniel Sedin both registered two points each Sunday night.

FULL RECAP

If Vancouver plays as they have been the last 2 games the Hawks may be in trouble. Torres is back tonight and the Canucks once again have a faceoff man on the third line. Loooouuuu! will be loud in Chicago and the sound won’t be the wind.

The Vancouver Canucks (lead series 2-0) will try and push the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks to the brink of elimination tonight with a win in Game Three as the series shifts to the Windy City for the first of two straight games at the Madhouse on Madison.  The Canucks now have a chance to take a stranglehold on the series with a win at the United Center tonight – a building they had a fair bit of success in during last year’s playoff series winning two of the three games played there.  On the other hand, the Blackhawks are looking to avoid going down 0-3 in a best-of-seven series for the first time since the 1995 Western Conference Final against Detroit.  Raffi Torres, who is coming off his four-game suspension, is expected to take the roster spot of Aaron Rome. The return of Mikael Samuelsson will likely be a game-time decision.

The Canucks are playing just the way they should the first two games. They have the talent and the depth to play the games and win without burning out their best players or inviting injuries. I predict the Canucks will finish the Hawks off in 5 games.

I loved the last save of the game by Luongo in game two where the puck went straight up in the air off Luongo and remained there for 2 seconds before it came down. No one except Luongo knew where the puck was until Luongo pointed up.

The Canucks bumped the game two slump as they edged out the Blackhawks Friday night and the series moves to Chicago with Vancouver up 2-0 in the series. Daniel Sedin scores twice to play hero in the win.
