Farm House

Put a new hot water tank in the house yesterday correctly and we shouldn’t have problems for years to come.

Cleaned out the mess where the old tank was and put down a preserved wood base. Put down a drain pan for the tank to sit in. Used Shark Bite connection to plumb the tank.

Unfortunately there is no place for the water to drain to in this old basement but we can drain manually if water accumulates.

The hot water tank was very old and finally poured it’s water on to the basement floor causing a big mess and lots of work to clean up.

It was put in incorrectly to begin with with no drain pan to get rid of water from around the tank.

Time for a new one.

I got a screaming deal on a 10hp, 30 inch, 2 stage snow blower. It’s almost new and worth about $1400 but, I got it for $300 including tax and tire chains. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

A great time of the year to enjoy the work you did in the garden and do more work, canning, pickling, freezing, and cleaning up the garden for winter.

We are looking to find a dog house or build one before winter. However, I had to throw something up to give her some protection from the rain when she is outside during the day. Roxy just likes lounging on top.

It’s that time of the year again. The guys are up from Argentina working with the people and horses of the Okanagan Polo Club. There areĀ  lots of events and we have lots of horses being moved in and out of the field in our back yard. Love it.

Next year we hope to get a couple horses for our own riding.

A rough day on the farm for Star and Minnie

Roxy is a German Shepperd/Husky cross. She is 7 months old and has a new home with on the farm. Over all she is a very good dog with a few things we need to help her do or not do.

I think she really likes her new home.

This old John Deere may be 40 years old but it runs like a Deere.
