Everyone is welcome to contribute to Trainwreckof78.ca. A website about the devastating storm of 1978 which caused major flooding in North Central British Columbia. It washed out multiple rail and road ways between Smithers and Prince Rupert, and Terrace and Kitimat. Two CNR men, Ken Bateman and Frank Watson, lost their lives when their train was pushed into the Skeena River by a slide twice near Usk. Cheryl May Halwas lost her life at her school yard when a tree was blown over and landed on her.
